The RTLO18918B features unbeatable versatility: it can be operated as a 9, 10, 13 or 18 speed transmission, with 19.7 to 1 overall reduction and 14.40 low gear, plus economical performance with 0.73 and 0.86 overdrives for efficient cruise RPMs. Enjoy smoother shifting thanks to patented low-inertia technology: During upshifts, where both the lever and splitter button are moved together, the low-inertia mainshaft is quickly brought to synchronous resulting in fast, easy shifts.
Exclusive output seal design improves seal life and eliminates potential for seal damage during yoke removal. Thanks to design improvements, the RTLO18918B speed transmission also features faster, smoother range and splitter shifts. On select models, an optimized lubrication system provides increased cooling and lubrication for more difficult or harder-working applications.

How the RTLO18918B Works
The Eaton-Fuller 18 speed transmission is laid out in an ‘H’ pattern. The driver uses second, third, fourth, and fifth, then splits up into high range; then, the H pattern shifts again for sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth gear. After reaching ninth gear, split up to overdrive for the top gear. There are plenty of other gears in between, as all main gears have a high range and a low range, so that the driver can split any of the gears, twice more.
It might sound a bit complicated at first, but it really isn’t. A driver may find that the gear being used, may not be quite the right one for where he wants the RPM’s to be. In this case, you can simply split up or down accordingly, matching the RPM’s to the engine’s sweet spot. Drivers who like floating gears (which is never recommended) should love the 18 speed— 12 of the 18 gears available do not require moving the shifter, as they are split gears with a flick of the finger or thumb.
